Functional Fitness

The idea behind functional fitness is performing exercises that promote and support movements that we do every day. Traditional strength exercises isolate muscles groups and work in a single plane, such as a standard bicep curl or bench press. Functional fitness trains the muscles to work together and makes it easier to perform everyday activities, such as walking up stairs and carrying children. Getting more of the muscles involved in an exercise at once will prevent some muscle groups from being neglected and creating imbalance in your muscles.

I develop programs that incorporate multi-planar exercises and multiple muscle groups and joint activities. I want my clients to get the most out of the time they have with me, so I include cardio, muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility to create a well-rounded program through interval and circuit training.
