Flexibility

Flexibility is one of the most important components of a fitness program. It is rarely emphasized as a key element in physical fitness because it is seen as time consuming or boring, but without flexibility, we could not perform everyday activities, such as getting out of bed or bending over to pick something up. It helps our joints work properly and increases our movement capabilities. By incorporating flexibility exercise into your normal workout program, you will decrease the chance of health issues and chronic pain later in life. In order for you to perform the other exercises in a workout program, flexibility must be implemented.

After a rigorous workout, you need to take the time to relax and recover from the stress put on your body. The best time to stretch your muscles and joints is when they are warm, because they are more pliable and able to stretch farther. After each workout, I like to take my clients through a relaxed, peaceful cool down and stretch. I can also assist in the stretching to give the client a deeper stretch.
