Exercise and good nutrition are very important during your pregnancy. Engaging in both will give you strength and energy to enjoy your everyday life and continue the activities you are accustomed to. You should always consult your doctor whenever you are beginning any type of exercise program. As a rule of thumb, if you have never exercised before, during pregnancy is not the time to start. Of course walking and very low-impact activities are beneficial, but adding weights and other exercises that you have never attempted is not a good idea. Your body is going through a huge adjustment being pregnant and if you add exercises that you have never experienced before as well, it can put undo stress on your body. On the contrary, if you have been exercising and have a regular routine, it is ok to continue, with modifications to some exercises. Again, you should talk to your doctor about the workouts you are engaging in.

It is important to listen to your body. Everyone is so unique and our bodies respond to stress differently. If you feel uncomfortable or light-headed, you should stop what you are doing and rest. Our bodies will always tell us when something isnt right and if we pay attention we can prevent any chance of injury or harm to the baby. Because of the hormone changes in your body, your joints become loose in order for your body to prepare for delivery, so it is important to modify some exercises that may be harmful to you. This is all individually based. Each female is going feel different during their pregnancy and be able to perform different exercises. Again, it is very important to know your body and listen to the signs of discomfort or pain. Exercise is supposed to be beneficial, but the moment it starts to be a detriment, you need to stop. Remember: Healthy Pregnancy!
